EP – THE COUNTRY DUO – “LIVE AT SUN STUDIO”

Released September 2017

“Live at Sun Studio” is The Country Duo’s debut EP featuring seven original songs recorded, you guessed it, live at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, TN. Six of these tunes were featured on the television series Sun Studio Sessions which began airing on PBS stations across the United States in April 2017.

With nearly fifty years of combined gigging and touring experience, the birthplace of rock-n-roll seemed a natural choice to begin the duo’s recording career. The place where Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Howlin’ Wolf got their start is now where The Country Duo has found theirs as well.  Rausch’s voice and Pascolini’s pedal steel and baritone guitar echo the history of what was once Sam Phillips’s Memphis Recording Service.

SINGLE – “TEXAS WITHOUT YOU”

Kasey Rausch’s Country Duo + Friends

Addiction and mental health issues do not represent the heart of the addict or the depressed. Rather, they speak loudly to a situation that must be met with compassion, connection, and awareness. There is no shame in addiction and mental health instability. It’s hard to know how to help those that are closest to us. Perhaps we can be brave enough to make the mistakes by being willing to have the dialogue. #UseYourVoice #SpeakUp

Kasey Rausch wrote this song after she lost a childhood friend to suicide.

BORN NEAR THE WATERS…

Independent. RauschHaus Records 2004.

Released on the night of her 30th birthday, “Born Near the Waters…” is the first full album released by Kasey Rausch. It was recorded by Mike West at the 9th Ward Pickin’ Parlor in New Orleans, Louisiana over three hot muggy days – July 3, 4 & 5 2004. Breaks from the studio were spent on top of the now infamous levy broken by the forces of Hurricane Katrina. Kasey’s husband, Travis Huffhines  (mandolin) and two of her dear friends, Mikal Shapiro (harmonies, percussion, clarinet) and Joel Kraft (vocals), recorded by day and gigged by night. The result is a raw, un-mastered recording that reflects the once youthful songwriting and vocal styles of Rausch. Guest musicians include Grammy nominee Gina Forsyth on fiddle, Mike West on banjo, mandolin, acoustic guitar and Katie West on upright bass (Truckstop Honeymoon.)

All songs written by Kasey Rausch except:
“Gold in the Bargain Bin” – Joel Kraft
“The Pilgrim Song” – Christopher Pilgrim, revised by Kasey Rausch
